Things I want

I decided to make a list of things I want. You are all more than willing to get them for me for Christmas. ;)

Red Zune.

I play music on my phone, but my battery sucks now so I want an MP3 player and I don't agree with IPods.

Super Mario Bro Wii and Wii Fit.

Seriously. How great is that?!?!

A nice bathrobe

Closet Organizer

I really need to find more storage and stuff. My room is horrible because I have no where to put everything. Hopefully Chrissy will help me when she comes out! haha

And last, but not least...

A Husband

Although I will settle for just a date. ;) I'm not picky! haha

Everything happens for a reason.

I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Weather we ever know what the reason is or not. Today I was planning on starting a new position at my job. A customer service rep, for the companies we had. Last Friday mom has surgery and I was in a bit of a funk and not being a "team player." I sat off to the side, got all my work done, but wasn't the happiest of people. I felt that since I still got all my work done, it did not matter. However, some of the temps did not feel that they. They told people that they could not work with me and that I was bossy and mean and that I felt I was better than everyone else since I got the new job. That of course was not the case, but they felt it was.

I had told Reid, my supervisor, what was going on, but he failed to tell anyone else (which I don't think he NEEDED to tell anyone else because it was not affecting my work). So everyone took it as me being stuck up. Joann(the temp lady) called monday and said it would be best for me to tell Ambra and Laurel what was going on Friday to clear everything up. I did, I explained myself. Owned up for what I need to own up to. Said I was sorry. Didn't call anyone else OUT on their crap. I got told I offended people by talking about religion, which I never did. Did I mention church, yes. I got asked what I did that weekend, I got asked where I wanted to get married, but I never talked about my beliefs because hi, I don't do that with anyone and it's work. Did I call anyone else out? No. People talk about stuff I don't agree with all the time but do I get offended? No, because I don't care what you do with your life. I feel only you can offended yourself. YOU get offended. And if you can't handle hearing about the LDS church, Utah is not the place for you.

But I didn't mention any of this. I was told to put a smile on my face, and make sure I was as good as I could be for the rest of the week because somehow it got back to Sharon (one of the higher ups) and Kelly (the owner). I said okay, I would be back to my normal self. They said I had nothing to worry about because they knew this wasn't me and now that I explained myself they felt it would be better. I got thanked later that day for turning it around.

Two people got fired that day. The next day I got switched into doing packaging. I asked if I was being punished, I was told I was not. They had someone already to take my position so it was just a matter of finding somewhere to put me since someone already had my job. I was fine with that. Who cares as long as it's work, right? Yeah. Everything is good. Or so I think.

I go home and get a call at 5:30 but Joann. Saying I was fired. She said it's stupid and no one wanted you to go but their hands were tied. I guess Kelly talked to Neil (the other owner, but he is just the money). And they said that if this happened once then it must be in my personality. And that they couldn't have someone like that working with their customers and since they already filled my position there was no where for me to go. I guess they were fighting back and forth for hours trying to convince him otherwise, but what the owner says, goes, apparently.

What I don't get is how you can hire people to be managers and run a warehouse and do your HR and hiring, and not trust them when they say you should keep someone. They were the ones working with me everyday. They were the ones that saw me. I only met Kelly once when I interviewed for this new position. Just a week before you liked me enough to hire me and then I have one bad day and you get rid of me? That's not a company I want to belong to. I don't want to belong to a company that doesn't trust his employees and managers. That's why you hired them.

I'm a big chain of command person. There is a certain order that you need to follow. You have a problem with me, you go to my manger. If he can't fix it, you go to his manager. It should have NEVER EVER EVER gone to the other warehouse, yet alone Kelly. NEVER should have left the warehouse. But someone decided not to follow that, and I got screwed. BUT, in the end it worked out best for me.

I wasn't stressed about not having work. I had enough money to live about a month without a job, but I wasn't worried. I knew it would work out sooner, rather then later. I, however, did not expect it to work out THIS fast. I got fired Tuesday night. Applied for a job Wednesday night, had an interview Thursday, got hired on Friday and start Monday. It all just seemed to work.

I will now be working South Jordan. It's a longer drive, but it is more money per hour. It's part time, but I survived off part time before and I can do it again. I can work HALF the time I did and make only $100 less than what I was full time. That to me is huge. Yes, I don't have the benefits that I would at the other job, but that too will work itself out. It's a small business. I mean, only the owner works there. It is a hearing and balance clinic. The owners are actually from Sterling Heights and recently moved out here and he started the business about a month ago. He used to work at Henry Ford Hospital downtown. That was fun! Just having someone else that KNEW where Romeo was and where I went to school and stuff like that. It was crazy.

He told me I would be doing the same exact stuff I did at the physical therapy place. It's nice that for once, they lack of experience didn't get in the way. It all works out in the end. I don't know where this will take me, but who does? I just know that it could not have worked out in a better way. I know that this will take me where I need to go. Weather it's just another stepping stone, or if it's a long term thing, I know it's right for me.

Peoples true colors and feelings come out in the end. I clearly am the winner in this all.

New job

So ever since I quit my old job I felt that the only job I would get would be at the post office. Well, I got it but it was not the best of hours. But I am thankful for it because it gave me a lot of money when I had run out of it.

Well, we got back from Michigan on Tuesday and on Weds I had an interview for a receptionist position. She never got the email that I was coming so I ended up sitting there for over an hour before she came back from lunch. I was annoyed. The pay for the job wasn't that great and I just was not in the mood.

I got a call later that day saying they offered me a job. Not the receptionist, but doing data entry. It's about $4 or $5 less then the post office, but after they hire me on (right now I'm hired on through a temp company) they pay health 100%. Which will be right around my birthday which is when I lose mom's insurance.

So that was the deciding factor for me. I went in Weds night and told the post office I would work the rest of the week and then I would start this new job on Monday. The hours are WAY better (8-4 instead of 4-midnight) and it's a SET schedule. I don't be sent home after two hours or made to work 10 hour days. 8-4, Mon-Fri.

I can always go back to the post office if this doesn't work out (if they are hiring, I don't have to go through training and stuff again, I can just get hired back on). So I'm nervous because I won't be making that much an hour. I know I will have more than enough money to get by and still put stuff away into my savings, but just not as much as I would have with the post office. Which means I probably won't go back to school for a year, but that's okay. The benefits outweigh everything else.

Pictures

One of Tinas friends does a photo challenge and I was bored so I decided to mess around with photoshop. I like some of them better than others, but here they are!
