Now, I usually don't talk politics because it causes problems, but I realize this is history. I realize that history is being made and I think that's great. I think it's awesome that as a country we have come so far as to have a black president. I only wish he was elected for the right reasons. Did you vote for him because you agreed with his politics? Or did you vote for him because he was black? It goes both ways. Did you vote for McCain because he was a POW? Or did you vote for him because you agreed with his politics? Did you vote for a third party because you felt it was best, or just couldn't decide between the two? I sadly think America is not that smart. They vote based on appearances and that is one of the worst things you can do in politics. They are trained to lie and make you believe things. They make promises they know you can't keep.
Do you honestly think that just because there is a democratic in the office that the war will be over? Do you think come Jan 21th he will just pull out the troops and that will be the end of it? It's not that simple. No one can just end this war over night and if you believe that than you are a fool.
Change is not always a good thing. Yes, Bush made mistakes. What President hasn't? But just because you didn't like him is that a reason to vote for someone totally different?
I would be okay if I honestly felt Obama won because he was the best for the job, but the fact of the matter is, I don't feel he is. I feel is only president because he is a) black and b) because people want something totally different than Bush.
But whatever the reason is, and we probably won't ever know, Obama is our new president and I just hope, and pray, that he will do good. I hope that things will change for the better and that he can help better this country. I hope he can make more jobs in Michigan and help them out. I don't think he will, but I do hope that he will. He has a hard task in front of him and I just hope he will succeed.
I've come to realize that my generation scares me. I don't consider myself a liberal at all (I think Tina put it perfect today - I am a liberal republican and she is a conservative demotic) but it scares me to think of what my generation is going to do to this country.
With that being said - I am mad I didn't get to vote, so this will be the only time I mention it since I don't have a right to complain since I didn't get to vote haha
